Alain English is an actor and a poet based in London. He is an Associate Artist with Access All Areas, an autistic/neurodiverse-led theatre group based in Hackney, East London. Alain also works as a Cohort Artist with Response Ability Theatre, developing new trauma-conscious theatre work. He recently performed in the play “Complex” at King’s College Theatre in London.
Alain has extensive experience acting on stage in a wide variety of roles, most notably as William Butler Yeats in “The Playboy Riots” (Bread and Roses Theatre) as well as Prince Escalus in “Romeo and Juliet” (Stockwell Playhouse).
Alain worked with the Arcola Mental Health Theatre Group in “Headlines” in 2019 and “The Pleasure of Your Bedlam” in 2020. Alain then co-created “Still, Here” in 2020 and “Sanctuary” in 2023 with Access All Areas Black Cab Company, and completed their Performance Making Diploma in 2025.
Alain also works with support workers in Look Ahead Care and Support, instructing them about supporting autistic people. He is currently being trained as a consultant for Access All Areas to co-lead awareness training for arts industry professionals.
